My ethos with music production is very much about capturing a feeling in the room. I love live takes, playing off click and (in the words of Brian Eno) giving the songs a chance to take a walk. That's not to say I refuse to work building songs up track-by-track, in fact this can have benefits depending on the mood of the song, but this is my preferred approach. In an increasingly digital, artificial world, the live feeling of music is what will sustain the artform we love. While music software is more advanced than ever, I prefer to work with real instruments played by real musicians. Call me crazy but I believe in Human Intelligence (HI), especially in a creative sense. My production inspirations are the aforemention Brian Eno (<3), Rick Rubin and Jack Antonoff, who all apply this creative philosophy.
